A career in Social Work

Becoming a social worker requires both the right personality and academic qualifications. An Honours degree in social work is a necessity, as is registration on the social care register.

As a social worker your role involves building partnerships and supporting people to overcome problems and improve their lives.

Working alongside local and national authorities, social workers play a pivotal role in keeping families and communities united.

Placements, or practice learning opportunities, are a great way for students to experience a social work environment. Key for developing their professional practice, a placement can help students acquire the necessary skills and abilities to thrive in social work.

If you’re currently working towards a social work qualification, Pathway Care could offer you an invaluable experience. Talk to your tutor today.
