Pathway Care Midlands at the Zumbathon

13.07.11

On Sunday 19th of June, under a threatening sky of clouds and a cool breeze, Pathway Care’s very own placement worker Amanda Baxter braved the conditions and took up the challenge of the Zumbathon at Simmons Park Bromsgrove. Along with at least 20 other brave and energetic volunteers, Amanda danced and jived to the music.

Zumbathon

This was the final day of Bromsgrove carnival. The day started for the Zumbathon at 10.00am and was led by a series of hard taskmasters, including Sally Stokes, one of Pathway Cares assessors. This was an energetic event put on to raise funds and awareness of Leukaemia Research and a ‘The Basement’. The Basement is a local charity providing support and advice to 16 – 25 yr olds facing homelessness or actually homeless. Pathway Cares donation supported the days event.

The raffle was managed by Pathway’s Jayne Sewell and she and Amanda were easily identifiable by their Pathway Care tee shirts.

The weather steadily improved and after 2 hours of almost non-stop Zumbering the sun was out, a beautiful day unfolding, and the valiant efforts of the dancers rewarded and they could finally rest. Well done to everyone involved.
