Major recruitment drive in the East of England
Posted:25th September 2008
The last three months have seen a dramatic increase in the number of children and young people from Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham and Peterborough in need of care. These children and young people range in age from 0 -18 and are in need of a stable family home for both short and long periods of time.
In response to this increase , Pathway Care East of England has launched a major recruitment drive this month to find suitable people to join its family of foster carers.
A radio campaign was launched in both Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire detailing the benefits a career in fostering can offer, whilst an extensive mail shot is due to take place later this month in all three areas.
Kathy Swift, Regional Director of Pathway Care East of England, said: "Foster Carers come from all backgrounds and may or may not have had previous childcare experience. We offer comprehensive training and 24hr support to all our carers as well as payments which are well above many other professional care salaries." she added " We are in real need for suitable people to come forward to train as Foster Carers and meet the needs of these local childern"
