Transitional Foster Care

Transitional foster care (or step-down fostering) guides foster children and young people through the transition from residential care and into their new foster home. Many foster children have experienced uncertain childhoods, resulting in both behavioural and emotional issues. This can make settling into their new home environment a trying and difficult experience. Our step-down carers are there to offer an enhanced and sensitive care solution designed to support them through this period of change.

Our wonderful transitional foster carers work alongside psychologists and social workers so they have the resources available to offer children a space to adjust and ease into foster care. Aside from collaboration with this impressive team, we offer all our carers the same specialised training and support as with all other types of foster care.
